The National Multidimensional Poverty Index has been released by the Policy Commission, which has come out with shocking figures. Bihar is the poorest state in the country. The report has been released by the Policy Commission under the Government of India itself, which is based on the National Family Health Survey 2015-16 and the 2011 Census data. Gujarat’s report is really shocking. According to the Policy Commission, 18% people in Gujarat are still living below the poverty line. That means a total of 1.12 crore people in the state are living their lives in poverty. When it comes to the districts of the state, 57.33 per cent people are poor in Dangs. As a result, it is the poorest district in the state.
It is followed by Dahod, Panchmahal, Narmada and Banaskantha. Kutch is in the sixth position. Where 28.6 percent are poor. As of 2011, the population of Kutch was 20,92,371.
